Mayor Garcetti's Back to Basics Priority Outcomes
“I’ve focused on a back to basics agenda to create a stronger economy and more efficient and effective city government, and I am exercising the CEO role of the Mayor’s office to hold our city departments publicly accountable online” - Mayor Eric Garcetti
In July 2013, Mayor Eric Garcetti assumed office on a back-to-basics platform focused on growing the economy and creating jobs, improving the safety of our communities, enhancing the quality of City services, and creating the best-run city in America. In December 2013, the Mayor issued Executive Directive 3, directing all City departments to post online any data they collect or generate. Through this page and the City's open data portal, data.lacity.org, the public can track how well we’re living up to those commitments and better understand how our government works.
